Let’s use his face as the symbol to breaking the stigma of mental illness. It’s the least that we can do for everything he gave this world.

Meh. I’m a chronically suicidal person, but it nevertheless bums me out when someone goes ahead and does it. It seems that no matter how aware of one’s own state of pain one is, there may come a time, as it did with Robin Williams, that it just gets to be too much, for too long. I’m always sad when someone loses the fight, or just gets weary, worn out from the constant pain. I just read an article about the fact that Belgium now has parity of both mental and physical pain when considering euthanasia. I think that is real progress, to have a medical system that acknowledges the fact that chronic psychic pain is as bad or worse than chronic physical pain. Many may disagree with me, but I think that for people who are so miserable from long-standing mental illness that they would suicide anyway, to have a humane and peaceful planned exit would be a blessing.

“It seems that no matter how aware of one’s own state of pain one is, there may come a time, as it did with Robin Williams, that it just gets to be too much, for too long.” – I agree Laura. I wrote a post called, “When Do We Decide to Commit Suicide” that explains my own reason, being that of hopelessness. Thank you for taking your time to comment with your wise words. X Chris
