Market Street at 3AM

Art by Rob Goldstein

Market Street at 3AM

Two quarts and a five,

splashes of

yellow & red,

glass shatters,

a speed freak
on crutches,

and the barefoot
drag queen

“immediate move in”

You can Fail but you can’t Flop

as the last drunk

staggers onto the bus.

  1. I really love this Rob. It makes me remember a ‘time’ in history that really doesn’t exist anymore, you have captured it perfectly, and that’s so important, for some may never experience it, except through words like this. Beautiful work.

    1. You’re right. I decided to make a word collage out of the billboards and sights on a bus rolling down Market Street at 3AM — It’s taken me awhile to find the poem’s essence. Thank you for your comment. It’s nice to know that it works.

      1. Rob, your work and your creative words always work for me, it is unheard of that I read one of your posts and am not moved in some way, or forced to think outside of the mundane. You remind me of what matters. I love that about you.
