This is a response to the November Writing Prompt on Myths of the Mirror, which is to write something from a non-human perspective.
Madison Speaks
We’re at her imaginary park again.
I hate this park!
It’s not like I can DO anything.
I can watch, I can listen, I can politely speak my mind.
Last week she made a big ugly Doll, a horrible thing.
She says I’m priggish and judgmental, but I say I’m
a sensible doll; she’s twisted, that’s what I think.
Oh God, here comes that bloated elephant and his
seven ratty mice.
Why are those mice dressed like dwarves?
It’s sooo derivative.
Where does she get these creeps?
I’m gonna throw myself off the bench.
Not that she cares.
