Just another day in paradise

Fightmsdaily

Despite having lived with Multiple Sclerosis for 20-plus years and understanding it more than I wished, there are still times I get discouraged and frustrated. Of course, I understand that most of the symptoms that make me feel this way will subsite in time, they can be difficult to tolerate. Something worse than normal, and I have been forced to endure for the past several days is the neuropathy in my legs. I should be used to dealing with this because it is not new, but it does not get easier. Lately, it has been painful to walk and even sit down the sensation of tingly, pain, and the “spider dance party” on my legs have been almost unbearable. Considering I have been dealing with this for years, I can almost guarantee the reason for the increased issues is due to heat and stress.

Another issue that is not new…

Friday before a long weekend!

Fightmsdaily

A Friday before a three-day weekend is the best kind of Friday. I appreciate all Fridays, but I am thankful to get a long weekend. I am not doing anything special during the long weekend, which makes me even happier😊! The only things I plan to do is NOT get up too early, not have to work my normal job, and clean my house! This might not sound exciting to anyone else, but this is exactly what I need. The past few weeks have been exhausting and frustrating, which explains why I am emotionally and physically drained.

I wish someone could explain to me in a way that makes sense why there are so many judgmental and angry people in the United States. I do not understand why people enjoy tearing someone down by insulting them or finding other ways to make another human being feel they are insignificant. This…

Mid-Week Thoughts

Fightmsdaily

Unique personalities can be interesting, but sometimes they can be extremely challenging to deal with. When I say “unique” it is my polite way of saying mean and nasty! I try to get along with everyone and understand why some people behave the way they do because when people are rude and distasteful, I think there must be a reason. I try giving people the benefit of the doubt, but you can only do so much to help others. There are not many people I cannot get along with or at least fake it, but the ones that I struggle with I try to avoid like the plague😊! This might not be the best way to handle things, but how else do you do with challenging people, especially when you work with these people, or they are your supervisor?

Most employers say they offer work-life balance, but how does any…

One day down, four to go….

Fightmsdaily

Hello Tuesday! Although I am not sure how we managed to survive Monday. How did your week start? The first part of yesterday was not bad at all, I actually received praise from a customer. I think we can all agree, that getting a compliment at work is rare because so many people tend to complain instead. That was the highlight of yesterday and then it went downhill rather fast. Honestly, I think I was overwhelmed and it should never have gone that way. Too much was being put on my plate and I found out this was NOT supposed to happen. I know everything happens for a reason, but I never question things at work and I should have much sooner!

We did make it through the first day of the week and we have four to go before the long weekend, so I think we need to help…

Discouraging thoughts prevail

Fightmsdaily

For as long as I can remember, I have been engaged in an ongoing internal battle with my thoughts. Mostly this revolves around my abilities, like what I think I might do well and what I fall short with. I consistently question everything I do, second guess myself, and repeat over and over again until I feel defeated. This only continues to cause me to give up and let go of the dreams I once had and cared deeply about. I realize this is a self-confidence issue and I am doing this to myself without input from anyone else. I am not sure what causes this and I do not know how to change this.

I have mentioned previously I have always “dreamed” of being a writer. I have done several outlines of a book that I would love to write but discouraged myself every time I think about it…

Stand up for rights

Fightmsdaily

On June 24th, the US Supreme Court decided amongst themselves and others with the same ideology to overturn a landmark decision made in 1973, Roe vs Wade. As it should have, this incredibly unethical and terribly flawed decision has caused an uprise in the country. We were supposed to be evolving in our lives, not devolving, and creating additional turmoil in a country already overflowing with hatred! The ruling regarding Roe vs Wade was brought into light almost 50 years ago when the thought processes of the people had not advanced to a kinder and more understanding way, which was the way things were in the past.

Please allow me to explain more about the way I feel about what has taken place. I am not pro-abortion, but I am pro-choice and believe women have the right to decide what happens with their bodies. Not all pregnancies were…

Pick-Me-Up Thursday

Fightmsdaily

Happy Friday Eve 😊! How has your week been? It has been far too HOT and I do not think the temperatures are going to get cooler anytime soon. I swear, summer can often feel like we are living in hell, but hotter! It is terrible when you walk aside and feel like you are in a sauna or an oven that is turned up as high as it can go. Of course, there are good things about summer, but it is almost impossible to live near the ocean so you can feel the glorious ocean breeze and hear the waves crashing down!

We have somehow survived most of this week, but we do have a couple left before the weekend returns. This is the home stretch, as we wait “patiently” for the weekend 😊! I think we can all use a little pick-me-up that offers encouragement and strength. I…

Three Important Traits

Fightmsdaily

I think three of the most important traits we “should” have as good human beings go hand in hand. The traits I think are the most important and required in life are truth, honesty, and loyalty. Of course, this is just my opinion, but I do believe you cannot have one of these traits without the others because they are firmly linked together. I know it seems obvious what these traits mean, but I am going to explain what each of them means. I am also aware that it seems that truth and honesty are the same, but there is a difference.

What doestruthmean to you? For me, truth means saying what is a fact beyond a shadow of a doubt. According to the dictionary, truthcan mean one of two things. One is that which is true or in accordance with fact or reality. Second, is a…

Life is a Cycle

Fightmsdaily

It never matters what goes on, life keeps moving on whether we are ready or not. It seems like life is on an endless cycle of time. Life will keep going even when we are suffering from some type of challenge or hardship. The crazy thing is, that we are strong enough to handle it all, even when we cannot see the strength within ourselves. We did not ask for it, but the day we were born was a gift and we can decide what we do with this gift.

Although I know we all appreciate our lives, I am sure there are things you wish you could change. One thing that never stops is, that bills come at the same time every single month. Of course, we work to survive, pay bills, and enjoy life, but the darn bills get old! It would be nice if just once the…

Happy Monday, y’all! I hope you had a nice and relaxing weekend! I do not know if it was the heat or fatigue, but I was a little slack from blogging last week. I am going to do my best to back in the swing of things again and do better. It never fails, as the weather causes extremely hot temperatures, I end up feeling more exhausted and my pain levels increase rapidly. I have lived in the south more than 20 years and do not think I will ever get used to how incredibly HOT it gets, but I do think it has been worst in the last decade or so.

I would like to start this new week off being motivated and optimistic. Of course, the weather has been a struggle for me and it has not been easy, but do not want to allow this issue to…

World of Hurt

Fightmsdaily

I think we can all agree the past several years dealing with COVID fears has not been easy. The COVID pandemic put our lives on hiatus. All the things we wanted to do and took for granted were halted. It was not easy to be stuck at home all the time and only see the same four walls, day in and day out. While COVID has not vanished from existence, many have taken the necessary precautions by getting the vaccine. I still have hope that life can start becoming closer to the normal we once knew, but I do understand things do not always work out the way we want them to.

The truth is, we are only offered one chance at this life, so we should not waste any time on anger and hate. Instead, we should always continue growing, changing, learning, and striving to improve. Each day we…

Half-Way Through the Week

Happy Half-Way through the week! I was, unfortunately, unable to work on Monday because of an awful migraine that was making me extremely nauseous. I get migraines too much and I would rank this one of the worst I have had in a long time. I thought I was going to be able to work, but after twenty minutes decided there was no way I could make it through the day. I was miserable with pain that went into my neck and shoulders. I could hardly see straight much less do anything else. I am used to dealing with pain, but it was so bad nothing helped. I ended up being on the couch with my cats and an ice pack all day with NO relief. Thankfully, I was able to work yesterday, but still had a slight headache throughout the day.

Exciting Weekend!

We are all simply just human beings, merely trying to survive this crazy life with some sanity. Often, we tend to be completely oblivious to how short our lives are because sometimes life feels painfully long and overwhelmingly complicated. We can be blind to understand how to accomplish our dreams as they can seem impossible for us to reach. We all have an exciting combination of small, large, and every type of dream in between, which all have remarkable meaning to us.

To some people, I know one of my “dreams” seem small and not a big deal. However, it was a dream to be in the same room with an author that I admire. This stems from my strong desire to write and have the ability to write a novel someday. On Friday evening my husband and I drove 3 hours north of where we live for a James…

I have been a HUGE fan of James Patterson for years and on Friday, I will get the chance to meet him and hopefully shake his hand and get a picture with him. As y’all already know, I enjoy writing and dream to write a book someday. I admire James Patterson’s writing style and logically I know that even if I do write a book anywhere near as great as his have been, a girl can dream though!

It is unusual because while I will yell at my computer and use some incredibly colorful language towards the computer, and I will even say that it has a bad attitude problem, most people think that is ludicrous, the trainer does the same😊! Of course, each symptom is frustrating, but some can be much easier to tolerate or even get used to.

Some might view this topic differently due to their beliefs, but this has absolutely nothing to do with anyone’s feelings regarding abortion and everything to do with freedom. A person’s moral and religious beliefs are well within their right, but their views should not impact a woman’s decision with her own body.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month

May is National Mental Health Awareness Month. This was established in 1949 to strengthen an understanding of the importance of mental well-being. It is time to recognize and praise recovery from mental illness for those inflicted with mental illness. Prevention and treatments can work for people. It is an effective way to help people recover from mental disorders and to live a full, and productive life. Unfortunately, in 2022 there is still a negative stigma surrounding mental illness. People are thought to be crazy, incompetent, or dangerous. This is a false understanding of mental illness, which this month is meant to alleviate and correct.

Over the past two decades, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and others within the US Department of Health and Human Services have collaborated to increase the importance of comprehending the prevention and treatment of mental health issues. We managed to survive Monday, which is great news! Once we make it through a day we all dread, the rest of the week “should” be much easier, or at least we hope it will. Yesterday was nothing short of insanity. I clocked into work at 7:24 AM for two reasons. One was because I had a doctor’s appointment and was going to make up missed time because of the appointment and the other reason was because of the overtime offered. Normally, my day does not start until 9:00 AM, but I do prefer beginning my day earlier because I feel better in the morning. I am not saying I am not tired in the morning, but my pain increases as the day progresses.

Something about yesterday that could have been better is, if I had known about the overtime, I would not have wanted my doctor’s appointment this week…

Motivational Monday

Fightmsdaily

Monday morning always returns without hesitation or delay and we are meant to tackle this week with diligence and determination😊! Of course, we would all prefer it be Saturday or even Sunday, but this is going to be a great week with many amazing opportunities. I already know it is going to be a chaotic week, but I know I can handle anything that is thrown my way, and all of you can as well. We sometimes need a constant reminder of this because it is easy to get discouraged and frustrated, so I am making a sign to hang over my desk to be a continual reminder.

I know none of us are ready for another new week, but I also have faith in all of you that we can manage. We might also require a little motivation to get into the best mindset. I hope y’all will find…

Sunday, preparing for next week

Fightmsdaily

Many people do not understand how changes in the weather affect others because it might not have any negative effects on them. During the winter months, the cold weather causes me to tense my muscles more, which causes additional pain. Then during the warmer months, the heat causes several other problems that are uncomfortable to deal with. It never fails when the weather changes with the seasons my body takes time to adjust. It does not just take a few hours to adjust, it can take weeks to adjust until I begin to feel semi-normal.

Currently, the temperatures change daily, and this is not easy for me. Last week there were a few days when the temperatures were mild but rainy. Rain causes increased pain issues, but I can deal with them for the most part. On other days the temperatures were extremely uncomfortable because it was too hot. Unfortunately…

Finally Friday and time to let go

Fightmsdaily

Thankfully, it is finally Friday. This week has felt long, and I never thought it would end. How has your week been? To say the week has been stressful is an understatement, which has only caused my normal pain to increase drastically. I am hoping for a restful, calm, and relaxing weekend because this pain needs to lessen. Originally, I was told my work hours were 9:00 AM -5:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch. I learned on Tuesday that was inaccurate and I am to work 9:00 AM -5:30 PM with a 30-minute lunch, which is better because that will be 40 hours.

Now that it is finally Friday, we need to let go of the frustrations and negativity the week caused so we can enjoy the short weekend. Our lives do not always end up the way we thought it would, so we need to try enjoying the life…

Halfway there Wednesday

Fightmsdaily

I do not want to say Wednesday because it makes it seem like we are not halfway through this week, but I will say happy halfway to the weekend! How has your week been? For some reason, this week has been extremely frustrating and stressful. Unfortunately, even though I know how unhealthy stress is, I cannot seem to stop. It has been so insane that yesterday I was counting down the minutes until I could clock out starting at 10:00 AM. The good thing is, this week is almost over and we are so much closer to the weekend.

I know we are getting closer to the end of this week, but we do still have a couple of days remaining. I hope the quote I am sharing with you today will give you the strength to handle the remaining day. Honestly, the reminder that nothing in life is permanent…

Defeat Tuesday

Fightmsdaily

The weeks can feel extremely long and strenuous. We typically prepare ourselves for Monday on Sunday evening because we understand they can be very demanding. Honestly, not every Monday is as bad as we think it is going to be and some are worst than we were expecting. Whether it be Monday or any other day of the week, sometimes there is no amount of preparation that can help us be ready for the days ahead of us. No matter what happens, we should never give up and should always try to see the positive in all situations. I believe a positive mindset will keep us healthier and happier rather than being negative.

Yesterday felt like a train wreck and I believe it had a lot to do with getting too little sleep. I knew it was going to be a rough day because if I had to guess, I…

Motivational Monday

Fightmsdaily

It cannot possibly be Monday already, can it? It seems like it was Friday afternoon twenty minutes ago. I know the weekends are short, but it feels like the weekend went missing or was skipped. How was your weekend? I have been dealing with nasty sinus and increased pain issues for days. I guess the sinus and pain issues made it seem like I did not have a weekend, but I guess it could be worst.

Recently, I discovered some great news, my favorite author and writing role model is going on tour. Since I discovered James Patterson’s series, The Women’s Murder Club, I have been hooked and obsessed. I mentioned in a previous post that meeting James Patterson would be a dream come true for me and I am excited to say, I am planning to meet him on June 9th! Even better than the chance to meet my…

Forgiveness

Fightmsdaily

Forgiveness can be one of the most challenging things to accomplish in life, especially when the person we are trying to forgive does not change and continues to disappoint us. We are never required to forgive someone and should only do so when and if we are ready to do so. Forgiveness is not something we do for the other person’s benefit and is for our benefit. This is meant to release ourselves from the feelings of resentment, regret, and reserve the limited energy we have inside.

If we forgive another person and they continue to let us down, should we continue to forgive that person or remove them from our life? I do not think there is a right or wrong answer for this question because it is a personal decision. We do need to think about self-preservation when making this decision. It becomes obvious when someone does not…

Let It Go Friday

Fightmsdaily

Happy Friday y’all! It seems like it has been a long week and I am not sure how we made it through, but we did! I am sure you are looking forward to the weekend just as much as I am. Thankfully, I do not have any plans for the weekend and I plan to enjoy doing nothing. Do you have anything exciting planned? No matter what you have in store for the weekend, I hope you enjoy and do so safely.

After a long and frustrating week, Friday is a day to let go of those negative emotions and relax. Our weekend is so short we should not allow the previous week to ruin it for us. Once we leave the feelings we felt from the week in the past, it will leave room for better things to fill our hearts and minds. I hope you find the quote…

What do you do?

Fightmsdaily

What do you do when you get frustrated or upset? Do you think it helps to ignore those feelings, yell about them, throw things, or break down into tears? It is painfully easy to get frustrated during life and even get a little mad about them. This can happen at home, at work, or when you go out to the grocery store or anywhere else. I do not think it matters where you live, driving can be irritating because so many people are paying more attention to their phones than the road.

Something I have always known about myself is when I get frustrated or upset, I will cry before I yell. I cannot explain why besides saying I do not see a point or like to raise my voice, but I do know crying does not help either. Yesterday when I was at work, I allowed myself to get…
