Been Out Of Sorts

Fightmsdaily

I have been trying for several days to write a post, but I have not been able to. I have a few reasons why things have been so challenging, and I will try to explain. One issue is I have not been sleeping well due to awful tooth pain. I know my fear of the dentist is very irrational, but I have never been able to shake this fear in all my years. After several mornings waking up at 3:00 AM in excruciating pain and it takes me a while to fall back to sleep, I finally scheduled an appointment with a dentist. My husband and I are still relatively new to where we are living and I did not know any dentists, heck, I hardly knew of any doctors besides my neurologist, but I reached out to an extremely sweet couple that has lived in the city for years…

~Let’s Start This Week With A HUGE Smile~

Happy Monday y’all! I hope you had a nice and safe weekend. My weekend did not go exactly the way I had planned because I did want to complete a post I started about Multiple Sclerosis but honestly did not have the energy needed. I think I might have been a little overly exhausted from the week and did not want to halfway write a post, especially one so meaningful to me. What I will say is, I will finish this post early this week and will not rush through it because I want to provide you with the best information I possibly can. It is amazing how one week can take so much out of us.

I was pretty stressed about a power issue we have in our house. Last week, on Thursday, the power in our basement only stopped working…

Happy Friday y’all! How was your week? I hope you had a great week and you are looking forward to the weekend! I am so happy the weekend is finally here and I have two days of not waking up early and then staring at a computer screen for eight LONG hours! I sometimes think that the computer ends up causing some nasty headaches or maybe it is “some” of the people I have to deal with. You will not be surprised that I do not have any plans for the weekend. I even already did my grocery store delivery, so I do not have to do that. I know I told you the other day that there were a few more posts I wanted to do about Multiple Sclerosis, which I hope to complete this weekend!

Beat The Heat

Fightmsdaily

As y’all already know March was Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month. Even though March is almost over, MS for me and everyone else living with this illness will continue to battle with the challenges that come along with it. With that being said, I do want to share a few additional posts to further explain the struggles that Multiple Sclerosis creates.

One thing common with those with Multiple Sclerosis is heat intolerance. Simply taking a hot shower, spending too much time in the sun, or possibly making a hot meal because the stove and oven can make the kitchen extremely hot. The reason people with MS are sensitive to heat and temperature changes is that MS causes nerves to lose their conductive coating, which is referred to as a myelin-sheath.

Heat issues may cause a person with MS to have an escalation of symptoms such as dizziness and/or increased heart rate…

~Ways Curiosity Can Enhance Our Well-Being~

How many times have you heard the saying “Curiosity killed the Cat?” Of course, the levels of uncertainty can be high, but we should hold onto the thoughts of scrutinizing. This is something that could hold many benefits and gratifications. Our curiosity may include an opportunity to reveal great new information, but also taking a journey into the obscure territory. The unknown can create a momentarily feeling of apprehension and discomfort, but the risks may be outweighed by the benefits. Giving in to your curiosity could help you gain a chance to expand your horizons and the fulfillment that comes along with personal growth. Challenging yourself to search for new experiences and different outlooks provides deeper insights about yourself and the world.

What exactly does “curiosity” mean? Curiosity means having a strong desire to know or learn something new. Entering the area…

Multiple Sclerosis Triggers and Ways To Avoid Them

Fightmsdaily

Multiple Sclerosis can be a challenging illness to live with, but there are often ways to manage the difficulties. Many things can trigger symptoms, but there are also ways to avoid many of these triggers. It takes time to understand what exactly triggers your symptoms and then to discover the best way to avoid them. Just like each person experiences MS differently, each person will have different triggers and ways to combat those triggers. Of course, please remember that I am not a doctor or medical professional, I am just another person living with MS, and have researched the topic. Today, I am going to share 10 triggers and ways to avoid these triggers.

1. Stress: We all experience stress in our life but having a chronic condition like Multiple Sclerosis can create an entirely new source of stress. Other types of stress can be a result of work, personal…

9 Multiple Sclerosis Facts

Fightmsdaily

In previous posts, I have explained that Multiple Sclerosis is an autoimmune and neurologist illness. What this means is MS affects the nerves, but also the body’s defenses to fight disease fails and begins to attack the cells. The immune system attacks the body’s myelin when you have MS. Myelin is a protective substance covering the nerves, so when this happens it leaves the nerves unprotected. The nerves being unprotected makes them vulnerable to damage, which causes them to not function as they would if there was healthy myelin. The damaged nerves create a wide range of symptoms that vary in seriousness.

A few additional facts regarding MS to understand are:

1.Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic condition, which means it is a lifelong condition and it does not currently have a cure. It is important to understand that even though there is not a cure, it is not fatal. There…

~Terms to know when living with Multiple Sclerosis~

Whether you are newly diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis or you have been living with MS for many years, you already know it is hard enough living with MS. I know there are times I still get a little flustered when talking to my neurologist or try explaining to someone the way I am feeling. I am going to share some useful terms to try to help make things somewhat easier to understand. ~Let Us Begin This Week With All Positive Thoughts~

Happy Monday y’all! I hope you had a nice, relaxing, and safe weekend, and you are ready to begin this new week. My weekend was uneventful which is a great way to spend the weekend or at least it is for me. The only bad part of the weekend was I could hardly sleep but 2 hours on Friday night, so Saturday I was exhausted. The crazier thing was, there was no reason for me not to sleep Friday night. Normally, when I have sleepless nights I am worried about something or stressed and I do not think I was, at least not consciously.

Ways to have a good day after a bad night’s sleep

There is so much focus on getting at least 8 hours of sleep each night to be more productive and feel most energized. This tends to make people center their attention only on the night but is just as important to consider what we can do during the day to help us get a good and restful night’s sleep.

One common mistake people make after a bad night’s sleep is to take it easy or rest up. Often our energy level feels like it is a limited resource, and we try to reserve it, but this is not the best idea. We can increase our energy and reduce fatigue by doing more, instead of less. I think I have had an issue with the healthcare issue for a long time because we are the ONLY developed country that does not have “free healthcare”. It seems that many Americans believe that free healthcare is wrong, and I cannot understand their logic. I know there are some that are not very welcoming to the new administration, but it is a possible a fresh set of eyes will find a better way to handle this awful situation.

Now that we have made it halfway through this week, we are so much closer to the weekend we all look forward to! During these trying times, it is extremely important to hold on tight to hope, because…

~Tranquil Tuesday~

Fightmsdaily

Happy Tuesday y’all! I hope you are having a great week and you are continuing to stay safe! Yesterday was a busy day at work for me, but I prefer it to be busy because it makes the day go much faster. I find when I do not have anything to do, the day drags by and it seems like the clock stopped moving or sometimes backward. How do you prefer your day at work to be, slow or busy? I am curious because I know my husband prefers his time at work to be slow.

Now that we have one day over in our week, I have to believe or at least hope the rest of the week is going to be great! Tomorrow, the new president will be inaugurated and even though some people are unhappy about this, I think a few set of eyes on the problems…

~We Can Start This Week Positively~

Happy Monday y’all! I hope you had a nice and safe weekend! Are you prepared to begin the week with a positive mindset? This week in the United States there will be some changes and maybe a little fear in some, but hopefully things will go well, smooth, and safely! On Wednesday, we will have a new president inaugurated and maybe the new administration will finally have the people be a priority. We already survived 4 years where the people were anything but a priority and more of an after thought. I am not sure how the new president and vice president will be, but my hope is better than the last 4 years.

On a more positive note, Monday is the beginning of a new week and there could be a lot of great opportunities for all of us. Even though there have…

We Are In This Together

~Together We Can Make A Difference~

We have all been going through the same struggles and fears since the beginning of 2020. We have probably all been staying home and avoiding any contact with others outside of our home because of COVID-19. Is it just me or does it feel like we are all on house arrest? I sometimes think that actual house arrest offers more freedom than we have seen over the last several LONG months. Truthfully, it has been a lot more than just several months and more like a year! There is a chance I am wrong, but I think if things were handled differently at the beginning of the pandemic, we would not still be experiencing the hardships and isolation we are today. I am pretty sure I have said this a million times before, but the Trump administration this took place under failed miserably.

I…

~Be Inspired & Stay Inspired~

Happy Wednesday! We have already made it halfway through this week, making us so much closer to the weekend! I don’t know about y’all, but I am looking forward to the weekend. Getting up early and working many hours a day has been exhausting, and I am looking forward to a couple of days with nothing that I have to do. Hopefully, a couple of short days of rest will help get me feeling a little better. I am not sure if it is the weather being pretty cold or lack of sleep, but my pain level has been pretty high. Yesterday, my legs and back were in so much pain, it actually hurt to walk, but I still pushed through because I refuse to give up and surrender to the pain!

We have all seen the awful things occurring in the United States, and…

~We All Deserve Peace & Tranquility~

Happy Tuesday y’all! How has your week been so far? I hope you are having a good week and you are able to stay safe, and calm! There are so many awful things that we are still seeing in the country, but we must try the best we can to distance ourselves from the negativity in the world and continue to be good individuals. If you are anything like me, you will be heartbroken because we have a heart and care about the lives of other human-beings.

Let us get out of this negative thinking and stay optimistic. I am hoping the quote I am sharing with y’all today will provide you just a little peace. I am not the best at avoiding stress because I tend to stress about everything, but I am going to start trying harder to practice peace…

~It Is Time To Make The Most Of Another Week~

Happy Monday y’all! I hope you had a nice and safe weekend! My weekend was quiet and uneventful, which is the way I like it to be. It is sad how fast the weekends go by and then how long it seems to take the week to pass by. Did you do anything over the weekend? How ready for the week are you? Considering I have been busy at work, I am assuming this week will be just as busy which is fine with me! My husband’s birthday is tomorrow and normally we would be up snowboarding during this week, but because of COVID we are not able to. Considering he has already been able to get his first part of the vaccine and will be getting the second in a few weeks, I am hoping he will be able…

We Need To Stop The Hate & Violence Now

Happy Sunday y’all! Before you start reading this, I just want to provide you wait a small DISCLAIMER/WARNING. I do the best I can to not write about politics, but this is about more than simple politics. I think y’all know by now I try to be open-minded, fair, kind, compassionate, and understanding, which is why this was so important for me to share. I know you might feel differently about tis, but I would really love to read and understand what your thoughts are.

The continued insanity that is going on within the United States is disgusting and shameful. The way people are following the idiotic ideas they are hearing from the president is not only awful but inhumane. Who would have thought our nation’s capital could be invaded so easily?  These people were domestic terrorists that were fueled…

Let It Go Friday

~We Made It Through The First Week of 2021~

Happy Friday y’all! I hope y’all had a great week and you are looking forward to the weekend ahead of us! My week has not been awful, but I am looking forward to a quiet and relaxing weekend. This getting up early thing and working at least 9 hours each has been exhausting. It is not any different from normal, but I feeling overly tired this week, and maybe a little stressed. It is possible it has something to do with the weather being so chilly and there still being an obnoxious amount of political drama still. Who would have thought this many weeks after the election there would still be so much non-sense? I almost think it is a little sad that there are this many adult men acting like toddlers.

Life in general can stressful, but work can add…

~Today Is NOT Simply Thursday, It Is Friday Eve~

Happy Friday eve y’all! How has your first week of the new year been? It is still and will continue to be my hope, everyone will be able to get the COVID vaccine and we will ALL be safe. I am looking forward to the day when life can be “normal” again and I am talking about the “normal” we were used to, not the new COVID “normal”. I guess all we can do until that day is follow ALL the advice from experts, which means wear a mask, practice social distancing, wash your hands, and stay home! Believe me, I know how isolating this can be, but this cannot last forever.

We have almost made it through the first week of the new year and the weekend is just about here! Of course, we do have just one more day…

~Our Halfway There Inspiration~

It isn’t just Wednesday y’all, it is halfway to the weekend! How has your week been? I am still hopeful that 2021 is going to be far better than 2020, but I guess we will have to wait and see. One thing I can say for sure is, the workweek is not getting any shorter. Do not get me wrong, I am thankful for my job and even more thankful I can work from home and stay safe. Although there is a vaccine for COVID, getting this vaccine is a entirely different situation. I would be nice if everyone in the world could get this virus because this would ensure the safety for everyone and actually save lives. I guess we all will all be able to get the vaccine in time.

Now we are halfway through our week and so close to the weekend, we…
